Artwork is just a quick copy and paste job just so that I could visualize wing positions.
I’m still debating between a full bat or just wings
original Blazon: On a helm with a wreath Argent and Azure (of the colors)
a Bat rising wings displayed (elevated) Sable
Just seeking some input and opinions
Personally, I like the bat (especially #4) rather than just the wings. Bat wings on a head look like evil rabbit ears to me.
I agree - go for the whole bat.
And #4 is awesome!!
Yeah, the whole bat is much better.
I would prefer #5. The wings alone. Very Continental look. But it’s just an opinion. Worth what you paid me for it.
Quite as its kept #4 is my favorite (even rotated facing forward) followed by #5 (as a full bat with wings in that position)
now would you still blazon it as displayed, displayed and elevated, or elevated?

I dare you to say that to The Batman

I think #3 looks best.

Except for the wreath, #2-3-4 are the same crest (FWIW my favorite) viewed from somewhat different angles depending on how the helm is turned. While there are some minor differences in style, this is merely the exercise of artistic license, rather like different artists (or political cartoonists) each depicting their own version of the same person’s head. Your artwork is pretty good, but other artist’s bats, so long as they are generally in the same position & color(s), would be heraldically equally "correct" renditions of the same blazon.
Remember that while the designs on a shield or heraldic banner have always been necessarily two dimensional, crests were, in the hey day of medieval heraldry and as now generally accepted, three-dimensional objects. This is in spite of some unfortunate practices (or malpractices) in "paper heraldry" after heraldic arms ceased being used in combat or tournaments, such as e.g. lions passant guardant on a helm affrontee.

I agree. Either #1 or #5 to me.
take the whole bat, other people already took the bat (dragon) wings as a crest. I will not name names
I like 4 followed by 5

That’s what I had hoped. So you can "turn" the crest any where within 90 degrees and still be "correct"
