I’ve known for quite some time that I wanted to replace my crest. The dog with the sword is just not sitting right with me anymore. I have some ideas already, but I thought it would be worthwhile to ask for some preliminary thoughts from the membership. Consider it a blank canvas…

You could allude to the elements of your shield and use an escallop or a tower…

Use a honeybee, salmon, pine tree, or moose attires because you’re a Mainer…

Perhaps one of your grandfather’s fishing buoys?

How about a lobster (or some-such Mainer beast) holding a lozenge Argent charged with a cross quarter-pierced pale-wise Tenné and fess-wise Vert?

I, for one, am sad to see Kenobi go :(

(that was his name, wasn’t it?)

A demi-man in a sou’wester and an oilskin coat holding one of your family’s buoys in one hand and a lobster in the other.

This would be complicated to draw, but very classic in a 17th-18th century way.  I like it.

Here’s the COA for Penzance which features a similar figure as a supporter:

I like this a lot too - though not usually my style. I tend to prefer something that might have actually appeared on a medieval helmet ... but I’ll give this some thought.

Thanks everyone for the input so far. I’ve got a lot to think about.
