I was just poking around the American College of Heraldry website and on a page dedicated to "Heraldic Bodies" I noticed the following listed in the United States.

Quote:

North American Institute of Heraldic and Flag Studies, North Planet Road, Box 88, Boston, MA 02666

Subsequent strategic Googling yielded nothing more about this organization. In fact, I couldn’t even find a "North Planet Road" or "Planet Road" in Boston. There’s a "Planet Street" which is very short and in a residential area.

Any ideas, anyone?

Apparently the director, at least as of 2009, was someone named David Phillips, if that helps.

I noticed that a D.F. Phillips is listed with said organization in the acts from the congress in Ottawa in 1996. It makes me wonder if David Phillips IS the organization.

David Phillips is a lawyer who now lives in California, and he primarily is the organization, altho I think it’s fair to say that he’s shifted most of his activity to the Flag Heritage Foundation, where he is a trustee, writing their monographs and working to finance some worthy vexillological projects. Very charming fellow and very smart.
