The arms, recently published, of Bishop Frank Caggiano of Bridgeport. The bishop was installed back in September, 2013 but the diocese only recently published his arms. Like many other bishops these days he redesigned the personal arms that he had assumed when becoming auxiliary bishop of Brooklyn (see below) several years ago upon assuming the office of diocesan bishop of Bridgeport. I leave it to you as to whether or not its an improvement but I don’t think so.
Well, we’re back to "we’ve seen worse…" The upper portion of the redesigned (dare I say downsized? or maybe sequestered?) personal arms are visually unbalanced. Maybe a really top-notch artist could make them look nicer, but the lack of balance in chief would be a challenge.
I do like the arms of the diocese.
