Done. If you would like your arms displayed, send me the link to the graphic.
Thanks Mike,
you already did that. It is at the Members’ Arms’ section.
I have, however, another version at
http://www.familie-greve.de/modules/PNphpBB2/album_mod/upload/da7ed0e8a87a392033b2bd6fd55f70ce.jpg
This version is what I chose as avatar (at least, for the time being).
Kind regards
Jochen

http://home.att.net/~numericana/arms/abel.htm
made me fall off my chair.

Nicolas Vernot’s page has been added.

Thank you very much, Michael.
Here a few lines about my CoA, which I created a couple of years ago. The better english translation for my motto would be " I renew myself in the light".
It is a canting motto, but has, of course, to be interpretated in the light of spirituality and aesthetics. Though being very active in my everyday life, and an atheist, I am a contemplative soul.
My family name, Vernot, comes from "verne", which is alder-tree. Interestingly, there are two words in French for this tree : "aulne" (coming from latin) and "verne" (coming from gallic). By choosing my arms, I could allude to my roots (hence the tree being eradicated ) and cultural heritage being both celtic and roman.
The crest is made from the light of a star and the St Andrew’s cross for the county of Burgundy, as an allusion to my love for my count(r)y, its history and heraldry. As an historian and an heraldist, I am working for the fame of the county, that is why the star irradiates the cross.

The alder looks cool, and I really like it per pale.

Thank you for the nice words.
The challenge was the following : I wanted only one charge in my shield, and still a unique CoA !

I must say our Roll of Member’s Arms is looking quite impressive!

I totally agree Dave! It is really nice. And soon I will be adding a different style of my arms, well, two actually - one with a cartoon 19th century ‘Hibernian’ standing guard over the shield alone and in front of an Irish High Cross and another in a more ‘Celtic’ style of shield using a "defender" helmet with no crest on it. Of course I have to finish them amongst the ones I am doing for everyone else (currently working on seven!!! and still trying to do my college work for the summer! - is there a going crazy emoticon Mike S. ??? - J/K)
Again I agree with you Dave.
