Like a lot of people I’m loyal to some brand names with regards to certain items that I use in my personal life. For example, regardless of the price I always buy Heinz ketchup, and Guldens mustard and Oreo cookies, etc.

Well, last week something happened I never saw coming. A friend was visiting and needed to use the restroom. he came out laughing (never a good sign) and exclaimed, "My Gosh! Heraldry even in the bathroom?"

I asked him what he was talking about and then I looked down onto the bathroom counter and saw the tube of toothpaste. It was the same brand my family has always used ever since I was a kid… CREST!

I really have used it since WAY before I was interested in heraldry. :D

In order to be politically neutral, we alternate Heinz and Hunts purchase-by-purchase.  wink

But can Crest toothpaste remove the heraldic plaque I bought from the Family Name & Arms store?

Crest does have a good reputation for polishing crowns.

For the record, I am informed by a usually reliable source that the hymn "Crown Him With Many Crowns" does not, despite the urban legends, refer to the Lord’s bridgework.

(But it does suggest that the arms for a dental technician might well feature "an orle of crowns Or."  Not as subtle as a beatie toothed Or (what is that blazon term?) I suppose…

What about:

Arms:  Sable, two bars counterembattled and embattled respectively Argent, a chief and base Gules.

Crest:  On a wreath Argent and Gules a tooth Argent a toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste in saltire Azure capped Argent.

Motto:  "Say, ‘Aaaah!’"

Perhaps the motto : " Is it Safe ? " would install fear into the enemy wink
