OK…so…i need more to understand this…i was under the impression that the leutenancies (is that correct?) of the SMOM were a part of the SMOM and as such would use the arms of the SMOM as is and not a differenced version of the arms of the SMOM. can someone please show me where i am going wrong?

The Brotherhood of the Blessed Gerard is not a grand priory, sub-priory, or national association of the SMOM having knights and dames as members, it is a Private Association of Christ’s Faithful (under 299 § 1 of the Code of Canon Law) and a relief body of the SMOM operating an orphanage, hospice and related clinics in South Africa. Some of the members of the brotherhood are knights and dames of the SMOM, many are volunteers and many are employees. See this link for more information: http://www.bbg.org.za/pictmenu.htm
