I don’t know how old you are, Terry, but the sealion that size compared to the rose reminds me of the sea monkeys advertised in comic books when I was a kid.

I’m just sayin’ is all.

LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  too funny!!!  Now that you say that…I can see it in my head.  Actually I think I still have a comic or two that have it…

And….yeah…the sealion is a bit big….will have to edit him a bit smile

Terry,

Looks ok to me, tweek it a little as some of the more experianced types have indicated and if you really like it, run with it.

While I do like the idea, I personally lean toward the idea of the freestanding trident and sealion intertwined.

Thank you all for your input.  I am planning on using the sea-lion entwined with the trident as my primary badge.  I thought it would be interesting to see if I could devise a second one that was a mix.  For now…think I am going to use my crest and think about a second one someplace down the road.  (this will also give me time to do some good graphic work and see if the idea even works:) )

Thank you all again.

In my own opinion, this proposed badge lacks the creativity of your earlier proposal. The barbed and seeded red rose has been a royal badge of England for centuries and as of late had been making regular appearances on the tunics of servants in the semi-historical dramatic film series "The Tudors". My first thought was that you may have been watching this series too closely and that it has had an undo influence upon your heraldic senses.

LOL!!  I believe my only saving grace is that I do not have Showtime, so I am not able to watch the series smile

I like the trident badge best.  When I see your rose badge, I can’t help but see the Lancastrian rose.  If you’d like the sea-lion and rose motif, why not a sea-lion charged with three roses in pale?

Take care,

I agree. The trident badge, IMHO, looks much better than the rose badge.
