I am going to have a pencil colour-by-numbers self-portrait in an exhibition in Otterndorf, Germany. Above, the arms, which seem to have a rather curious representation of an otter, from what we are used to.
Oh my….. "otter" is good English and good German…. but the Otterndorf otter is….OK, "curious" - at its best….

Doesn’t look much otter, I mean odder than some beavers I’ve seen in Germany.
That’s heraldic beavers, on old coats of arms in Germany.
Looks like some sorta post-Ice Age early mammal ancestor to me….:D
Cheers,

Glad you clarified that, Darren.
Seriously though, the otter is very appropriate to represent "Otter Town", although it does look awfully silly in this emblazonment.
Take care,

This one I really like.
Although being somewhat….curious… too, it’s pretty good medieval-ish style.
