State eagle of the United States of America in the historical center of St. Petersburg - at the dome of former Singer Company Building (Nevsky Prospect): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Singer_House. Removed and disappeared 1930’s. Restored 2003. The sculptor of this new version - Alexey Arkhipov.
That’s really cool! And in a rather unexpected location…
We have one more American State eagle here - on the commemorative plaque for John Quincy Adams: he was the first American Ambassador to the Russian Empire.
(He lived not far from my place:)
His baby-daughter died here and was buried here - in St. Petersburg.
What a beautiful and strong rendition of the American eagle ... and the photo is perfect for our Independence Day celebration!
The sculptor did a magnificient job.
Many thanks!
