Unusual this one , in that the client wanted silver instead of white for Argent. It is not real silver as that tarnishes with age so this is a paint made from aluminium which brightens when burnished.
Stunning! I like the oak tree.
I agree with Phil about the tree. Also love the sable and silver as applied throughout.
This is fantastic.
Very nice. I do like the "silver"
Very nice! I too have wondered how the actual "silver" coloring would look, in place of the usual white coloring. Something for me to consider is some future renderings! I like it.
Wow, very nice. I agree with others about the oak tree. It’s so different from others that I’ve seen. I love it. And the silver adds a whole different dimension and feel to the design. It’s getting me thinking…..
I’m guessing that this is another one for which a photo doesn’t do true justice to the art. I personally think that metallic silver would be stunning in many arms, the Carrasco arms included.
The ‘silver’ is problematic in that it absorbs too readily any paint you try to use to shade it and so you need to go over some lines etc a few times which can get a little tedious but if you like shiny things then it is a good choice.
all very nice, but my favorite part is still the very rich feel of the Sable of the mantling with its layers of gray-scale. just awesome.

I was thinking the same thing. Wonderful how Andy has retained a lightness and warmth with the tincture and metal in the mantling.
Amazing piece and the aluminum-silver paint looks great as one would expect. Thanks for sharing the finished work with us!
i realize now what the Sable mantling reminds me of. in some commercials i have seen for a certain Irish stout the head is just rolling…appearing rich with depth in a sepia colored setting. well, this Sable mantling is rich like that. firm, strong, yet fluffy and even a bit like a rolling cloud with it’s gray-tones. man…this is becoming my favorite little tid-bit of your paintings. just fantastic.

Dam, now I want a Guinness, mouth salivating, and the artwork ain’t half bad either.
I like the idea of the "silver" paint, Argent does mean silver not white after all. Filed away for when I commission my Arms.
Thank you everyone !
