I am seeking an artist to officially emblazon the arms I have worked out for my father. If anyone here is talented or can recommend someone to me, please let me know.
Are you looking specifically for a digital or traditional media?
Which style are you after?
If you want to go with the Scandinavian style, I can heartily recommend Ronny Andersen (Denmark, Royal Herald Painter to HM the Queen of Denmark, www.arsheraldica.dk), Magnus Bäckmark (Sweden, www.gronastubben.se) and Davor Zovko (Sweden, www.zovko.se).
How much are you wishing and/or willing to pay? Seems like that’s the first order of business.
The first order of business is to peruse the various artists styles and see what you like—while saving for the purchase—Heraldry isn’t cheap.
I too can recommend Ronnie (my avatar). Daniel Gill has an interesting style as does Ionis (I can never remember the spelling) and Kevin Arkinstall and…. there are many…
There are also very good digital artists. Ljubodrag is well known and Terry Sarros is doing some excellent work.
I’d suggest wandering around Kimon’s links and doing some internet searches—then determine who you like and "go for it!"
Lot of options with artist. If I may recommend a few - There are far more then this list. Look at the pages and do some google searches. As mentioned before emblazonments are not cheap, so look for the style you like the most. Talk to the artist, get a quote and see if you get along. Ask time frame for completed project and what is included with your purchase.
Traditional Artist:
Daniel Gill (don’t know a url for him)
Digital Artist:
And I humbly submit myself
An artist that doesn’t get enough attention in my book is Neil Bromley. I love his calligraphy as much as his heraldry. Both are absolutely outstanding.
If you’re in the market for some heraldic art at a bargain price, check out his prints of the royal line of succession from 1066 to 2012 in honor of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II’s 60th year on the throne.
Thank you Kenneth - no idea how I forgot Neil. He is an incredible artist!
Times like these I miss seeing Andrew Jamieson’s name on the list and work coming through the forum on a regular basis, but I venture Mum is keeping him busy

As far as I know, Andrew is no longer accepting private heraldic commissions Michael.
I know, that is why I miss seeing his name and work thrown around. I’ve always enjoyed his work and style.

I’ve heard Andy has announced he will not be doing arms anymore—he’s going into fine arts. I haven’t confirmed this, but the source appears valid.

This is true. He has retired from heraldic art (with the exception painting for the Queen). He is finishing his list of personal commissions and will then transition into creating fine art.

Pretty sad, really losing a heraldry giant.
I think going digital now would be best and then traditional media later.
