WoW and WoW…... beautiful as always!!!!!
Is it a stork with the comb and wattle of a rooster? What’s the significance?
The rooster’s comb and wattle are for Chinese calendar fowl. The armiger was born on April 17: according to Russian folklore (‘rural legends’) on this day of the year stork ‘raises his voice’ (i.e. rings/lets out his sounds) for the first time after the winter passed. Standing on the burning wood is based on three different Russian idioms and proverbs.
Got it. Thanks.
Beautiful as always! The colors just pop off the page.
Absolutely fantastic. I do really love the Russian style heraldic emblazonments.
Realy nice, the rooster is painted as giving a storklike hint.
