Have to work on my text along path skills…....
This was my first attempt at a full emblazonment and used the picture as a reference. I may be totally of base but I saw the blazon as a "description" of the achievement, I should have looked at it more as "directions". Because once I followed the blazon it was a bit easier to put all the pieces together.
Relatively minor concern, but in both cases illustrated above, the manteling on the dexter appears to be metal lined with color and on the sinister, color lined with metal. Was that intentional? (and therefore specified in the written blazon?)
Otherwise nice artwork.

It’s more than that, Mike. The dexter side is metal-lined-color, but the sinister side is downright inconsistent. Parts of the outside are tinted with the color and parts are tinted with the metal.

Thanks
actually that was totally unintentional I was trying out different filters that’s just a canvas filter I wanted just to see how it looked and get some feedback.
what I meant was that the blazon seems to be more like an "order of operations"

It’s actually a canvas filter I didn’t even notice that it looked like metal until you said it. I will use different filters and see how they look

It’s not a question of filters making it look like physical metal. The issue is one of tinctures—the mantling on the viewer’s right is green on the outside and gold on the inside, but on the left it is mostly gold on the outside and green on the inside.

And this one with counterchanged mantling no motto and crest yet
Not knowing the original sources from which the clip-art was taken, it’s hard to say, but I’d suggest that the mantling you have put on David Shorey’s achievement is intended to be counterchanged ... sort of. By that I mean that the sinister side I think is supposed to be showing more of the outside (i.e. I think everything from the turn-up at the sinister base of the helmet ought to be reversed from there on). Try that with your arms and see what you get.
Exactly!
