CoA of the 4th Composite Group an unit of the US Army Air Corps. From its creation in 1919 to its disbandment 1 November 1941 it was the command and control unit for all Air Corps units stationed in the Philippines. The three Crosses alludes to the 2nd (Later 2nd Observation Sqn), 3rd (later 3rd Pursuit) and 28th (later Bombardment) Aero Squadrons that made up the Group in 1919.
Is the bend supposed to be green? It’s almost gold, but not the same yellow as the sun burst.
I think it should be Or, but as I don’t have a blason I’am not totaly sure.
The bend should be green fimbriated silver, and the crosses on it also fimbriated silver, as seen on this uniform insignia. Green and black were the original branch facing and piping colors of the U.S. Air Service. Their appearance in the heraldry of Air Corps/USAAF/USAF units indicates that the unit’s lineage dates back to World War I or before.
