I think I have come up with a starting point for a personal coa and was looking for some feedback, help criticism http://i132.photobucket.com/albums/q3/slakrking/WestgateDraft1.jpg
Nice, but how about instead of several rose emblems, just one big one opposite the Pegasus?
As for the pegasus, why not make it rampant, but not looking to the front (affrontè? Not sure about the correct term)
I think I would like to see the mantling match the main tinctures of the shield, that is Vert and Argent rather than Vert and Or. That’s just personal but it is fairly standard I believe. Care to explain the reasoning for anything on the shield? It could help us help you.
Thanks for the responses,
As far as the reasoning on the items I chose to include, the roses are meant to represent the 4 members of my family, the style of this particular rose I just liked, the pegasus inspiration, the green my time in the service, the rose and harp, my irish grandparents. As far as the mantling, thanks, I didn’t realize that!
Mohammed, the pegasus I chose I chose because to me it seemed the clearest of those in my clipart, I agree the profile would probably look better
Back to the clipart!
Here’s with some of the suggestions included ..

Here’s a quick version that I think helps with the odd balance effect you have. I think it comes from the fact that you have so many roses combined with your bend, which doesn’t seem suitable for your arms. I tried this:

But there’s many other combinations worth looking into, I’d experiment with some other ordinaries and with the spacing of your roses.
I really like this, simple and elegant
Excellent choice of colors. And I agree that simple is the way to go.
Thanks .... I like that look much better, I may experiment with putting the four roses in chief, although that might make them too small which is the problem I had trying to get them in bend
Out of curiosity what’s the signifigance of the roses and pegasus?

The four roses represent my family members, wife and 2 children, and myself the pegasus I chose for inspiration
You’ve got some good stuff here… You can keep the Pegasus facing forward if you want, it’s called guardant... affronte would mean that the whole body faces forward, like it was leaping off the shield….
Keep it comming, you seem to know what you want
I think that having the shield divided fess with the roses in chief has a nice effect, check it out: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v606/MMCDHoward/arms3.gif
What about:
Vert, inside a border argent charged with 4 roses vert, a pegasus guardant of the second.
Following Colin’s lead, how about Vert, a pegasus rampant between four roses Argent? Placing the roses on a border suggests cadency from an earlier ancestor bearing just the white pegasus on green, & green roses (IMO anyway) seem a bit odd.
You would have to specify the positioning of the four roses—e.g. three in chief & one in base, or in chief, flanks & base, unless you wanted them in what would be the four corners if the arms were displayed as a banner. Or increase the number ofroses—you must have other relatives who might at some point want to use the arms!—& simply specify "within an orle of (some number - 6 or 8 or 10) roses all Argent."
Just suggestions of course, to stick on the fridge with other possibilities to see which design, or which elements of designs, start over time to "feel right." (the refrigerator test) Take your time, no rush…
Thanks for all the suggestions, it seemed so simple, I appreciate all the input, I’ve rethought my original selections (I like my components, my presentation was weak) anything here leap out as "wrong" ?
