The only real criticism I have is that the outline of the shield is so thick it looks like a bordure.

Anyway to work in your motto ("As Wise As Serpents") instead of your surname?  Maybe your crest?  But then we’re back to full-on heraldry again, aren’t we?

I did consider having the motto, but decided against it because I really do like my last name haha.  I probably will do some other designs in the future since it’s an art style I really like.  While working on this one I came up with several other ideas that I’m going to pursue soon.

This is really, really nice Josh!  I like it a lot.  I agree that the outline of the shield is a little thick but the rest is really nice.

Terrific, Joshua! Personally, I wouldn’t worry too much about the shield outline for a t-shirt design.
