As simple as it is. Its a nice touch, since his last name is Bigbee. It still needs work. any comments, critisisms? Suggestions?
If you want to make sure that you put your point across that it is a "Big Bee" then why not make the field a semy of roses?

On second thought you can’t see the skinny limbs of the bee.
How about making the field a honeycombe Or?

I like both of T.R.‘s ideas. In this way it appears to be a "big bee" and that is a great canting achievement.
***edited for correction of name…that’s what you get when you are up all night the day before and trying to work on a few hours of sleep…***
I do too, I actually had the honycomb idea but thought it to be too tacky, I was wrong. It Looks great.
I like the ‘semy of roses’ idea. Who needs limbs anyway?
I Like both designs.
I am still learning all of this and I am wondering how the "no color on color or metal on metal" rule applies. Seems this is part of the reason the limbs do not show in the field of semy roses.
Best,
Rob
My vote goes to the semy of roses—it adds color to the shield and proportion to the bee.

I, also, prefer the roses.
However, may I suggest that instead of seme the roses be arranged in orle around the bee. The effect is much the same but less busy and the bee’s limbs would stand out more. Perhaps Mr Griffith could post this alternative for us to see what it actually looks like.
With regard to the honeycombing in Mr Griffith’s second suggestion, I feel that the outline of the cells would be better if represented in a colour, sable perhaps, rather than or.
All the best,
Iain Boyd

I agree, perhaps roses arranged in this manner:

I’m not sure how this would be blazoned though.
Wow, that sure created a lot of buzz.

I surprised Mark Olivo didn’t make a bee-line straight to that punchline first.

A few more roses, to salvage my suggestion….

It would simply be one interpretation of Argent semee of roses proper a bee proper.
I prefer the orle of roses.

To salvage your suggestion? The image you used to display your suggestion had only a few roses. I thought you wanted to see less roses, strategicly placed.

I prefer the orle of roses.
Ahhh. I thought a semy of something had to be uniform in nature. And I agree, I prefer the orle as well.
