Arms of the USNS Wally Schirra T-AKE 8, from teh site of the Ship [url]http://www.wallyschirra.com/[/img] I’am not realy happy with the blendning of different shades of blue.

I agree that the arms could be better had they not used blue celeste, sable and azure all for the field.  Also, should not the Army Institute be aware that shield shapes are really meaningless?  To say the shield is New Jersey’s shield, while it is in the present incarnation, there is nothing to say it will not be altered at some point.

A bit cookie-cutter, though the crest I do like with the propeller upon the compass rose.

You are absolutely rigth about the shape of the shield, this is not a integrated part of the Arms, as any for of shield may be used (that is if you are not the USAF which strictly states that a special shape are to be used for their Arms).
