This makes me very sad. The Texas Trophy Hunters Association has been using this design for a long time, at least 20 years. And the lousy part is that I knew it, just took awhile to process.

While the designs are certainly similar, to me they seem different enough that you need not abandon the arms you have been developing.

I agree totally with Fr. Dohrman. Thinking this is a duplication would be like saying every lion rampant duplicates every other lion rampant. The Texas emblem isn’t even a coat of arms.

Joseph - Fr. Dohrman - I know it’s by no means a duplicate, it’s just very similar indeed. It gave me pause is all.

So what?

Your antlers are white, the hunter’s yellow and use the skull as well. Yours is on a pile which is on a gold field. Theirs is just a green logo. There are more differences than similarities.

Other similar logos and arms:

Jagermeister uses as stag’s head and green is associated with the brand.

The SCA uses a stag and green for one of its divisions here.

A Canadian grant shows like wise a similar design here.

Yep. Stags are a bit common, so do not fret over someone else having one, as you can see it happens. You have plenty of difference.

It’s a good design.

Besides, my friends, to paraphrase Bob Dylan: "The tines they are a-changin’."

Honestly when I look at the emblem compared to the arms, I don’t really see a whole lot of similarity. It’d be like looking at my arms and the Canadian flag an saying they were identical.

Hmmm. They are really close Joshua. I think it’s time for you to hit the drawing board again.

HA! Yeah right…I’m very happy with my design thank you. Besides, I made sure I started registering this design with different places to make sure I wouldn’t back out wink

Denny,

At least it wasn’t a tune by that great heraldically-named singer, "Barry" White.

Ben - nice to know there’s another wooter out there. I’ve got a bunch of woot T-shirts and that one is about to be added to the collection. smile

Note: one of my favorites features a DeLorian and Tardis in a mid-time/space collision.

Reviving old thread…

I’ve been mulling over this design since May, I still like it. That’s a good sign, but there is still a feeling like something is missing.
