An article about a company in Queens (New York City) that would seem to specialize in heraldic stained-glass.

A very good article about the art.

A coworker whose hobby was stained glass made this 2’x3’ window for me in 1984:

He charged me $1 per piece of cut glass—I think it came to about $250.  It is in my father’s house, framed.  I think it needs to be supported by heavier rods if it is to be installed as a window.

Beautifully done, and an interesting article.  I should start dropping hints to those I know who do stained glass wink.

Wow, you’re so lucky to have this.  I would love to own a piece of heraldic stained glass but don’t have a window for it (I live in an apartment).  Is this just framed and hanging on a wall?

Thanks everyone.  This piece is framed and was hanging in my window when I took the photo.  I’ve since given it to my father who displays it on the wall above the fireplace.  The lettering was done by me after the piece was finished—the craftsman could not do lettering!  I used black acrylic as I had no access to the proper stain for glass.  The lettering is still in place after all these years.

Cheers!

(Sorry for late responses—I’ve been in Japan with intermittent internet access since 31 July and will be here—first Sapporo, now Tokyo—until 3 September.)

A little late in your trip - but I have some old friends in Osaka in case something happens that you need a helping hand.  They’ve been missionaries over there since 1996.
