Any of our more capable heraldic artists could make this design presentable—losing the on-shield lettering of course.  We shouldn’t assume that a bad rendition necessarily means a poor design (well, sometimes it does, but not always).

I’m sure it’s obvious that I was attempting to "make a funny" but, to be truthful, I’m not sure this is one of those designs that can really be salvaged, even by the greatest heraldic artist among us (has the gauntlet been thrown here? haha).

Well, first you’d have to fix the tincture problem, but it’s Pittsburgh so obviously the colors have to be black and gold.

Secondly, I’m not sure if the things in chief are supposed to be stars or some kind of flower, so leave that as a blank to be filled in.

Sable two cricket bats in saltire in chief three [somethings] Or.

Strike the supporters.

Look like "shuriken" to me.  Somehow, don’t think the batsman would appreciate getting them thrown at him while at bat.

It would give a little extra piquancy to being caught LBW, though, wouldn’t it?

I emailed the webmaster asking if he’d like assistance and informed him that the design needs serious help. I can envision two possible reactions to such a tactless (yet well meaning) solicitation.

To clarify the thingee’s in chief, I looked at their website to see if I could find an explanation of their CoA/"Logo"—no luck.

A great gesture Jeffrey, and if they respond in the affirmative they could very well acquire a meaningful design to be proud of.
