I saw this design tonight while watching Doc Martin (British drama) and as I am not very well at blazoning, I was curious how to blazon the fish. Being a rookie at this, I kind of lost at how this would addressed. This is the sign for the shows primary school.

My initial thought is something rough like:

Argent, four fish, two haurient, two urinant, checky of three Gules and Tenne, arranged in saltire at fess point, in chief three escallops, in base one escallop Proper, within a bordure of Gules.

But, I have a feeling I am way off, but curious to learn how to tackle something like this. smile

I’d say something like the following. (I would ignore the odd checker pattern of the fish and toss it up to artistic license. It’d be hard to blazon.)

Argent four fish in saltire heads meeting at fess point Gules between in chief three escallops oriented toward fess point and in base an escallop inverted Proper.

Some may prefer to blazon the shells differently, such as: "... between four escallops Proper, 3 in chief 1 in base, all oriented toward fess point." Both work equally well as far as I can tell.
