Perhaps for lunch, on a tablecloth checky Gules and Argent, a plate bearing a kielbasa bendwise, sauerkraut, and spaetzle, all proper. Mmmmmm.
A new, presumably unauthorized, "crest" to add a stamp of authority and history. Ah the irony.
The silver lining here is that the company’s marketers believe that the public perceives almost-traditional heraldry as carrying positive connotations of authenticity and quality. That’s a good thing to remember in the battle against logos.
wall’s sausages looks to have inherited three more "crests" with it’s original. that sausage married into the right families, it looks like.
Let’s hope the sausage is a better example of food, than the "crest" is of heraldry.

Believe me, that’s a much finer piece of heraldry than Walls are sausages. I believe that in countries that appreciate sausages (such as Germany - though hold the curry flavour tomato ketchup) the filling of most mass market British sausages is classed as tile grout.
Of course the whole heraldry = authenticity and quality is one that is quite often seen in marketing over here - I’ll maybe start collecting such pseudo heraldry and post it when I have some. IIRC the Daily Mail has the strangest. Like many newspapers they used to have the royal arms at the top and at some time these were dropped for a shield of four blank quarters with the royal supporters.
