Wasn’t sure what section to put this.  I was just searching the web for something and came across this.

http://www.alnwickcastle.com/heraldry.php

Not sure if you have all seen this before, if so, I apologize for reposting it.  The page and website as a whole appears to be dedicated to small children.  They have a heraldry pop up that a child can "design you own shield" and will teach some very basic heraldry.  Thought it was interesting…  smile

Interesting site.  The "design your own shield" while quite basic, is fun & easy to use.

Heh, that was fun. There wasn’t too wide a variety of charges or divisions, but I didn’t see the dreaded words ‘family crest’ even once, so, 8 out of 10. :mullet:

Cheers,

Just a bit of trivia .... but Alnwick in Alnwick Castle is pronounced "Annik".  It is a bit north of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, between Newcastle and Holy Island.
