This shield is painted in "old world" - scraffito technique ( this is not graffito )
Scraffito is an old painting technique which has been used for decorating of buildings -see pictures below.
Before I started to be more serious about heraldry art I was an mural artist, so I use now some of the techniques in my heraldry paintings.
I cut the plaque in the shape of the shield and added some antiquing to it-
it’s about 30" x 36" inches (76 x 92 cm)

Let me know what you think about this idea - Thanks!
Looks great! What medium did you use?
Mostly I use acrylic - for portraits/ figures oil.
Again, I really like your artwork. I hope you continue posting the work you’ve done.
I really love the artwork. It has a very attractive style.
