And just because I know you like green+white+black. Not sure it’s the way to go…

I’m not a fan…and that’s coming from a person who also has a thing for green, black, and white haha.
Agreed. I’m not much of a fan of the per chevron. I prefer the regular chevron much more. The good thing is that I can cross one off the list.
Progress!
So I saw the family yesterday for Mother’s Day and showed them my final 5 designs for the arms. As I expected my entire family couldn’t care any less about the arms and gave me a look that basically said "this is a dumb idea". But at least they played along and picked the ones they liked the best so that gave me a better idea. And I now feel better about not necessarily designing something with them completely in mind but instead alluding to the family but focusing more on what I want/like in the overall design. Ah, progress.
Most family’s seems to have that mentality unfortunately. My family doesn’t understand my excitement whenever I see a speck of heraldry in a movie or something :D
IMO the "per chevron" version is nice, but if its not what jcar wants, then one less blot on the fridge!
(and one more unused draft that some future seeker might like—nothing goes to waste…)
Stupid question, but can somebody explain why this isn’t a tincture violation?

I’ll be honest, I was wondering as well but didn’t want to say anything for 1) looking like a newbie that doesn’t know anything and 2) I really like the design and didn’t want to lose it. lol
It’s all good, we all start out with little to no understanding of heraldry and the numerous rules and customs. I’m by no means an authority, so apparently I’m not afraid to ask a stupid question .

Because there is an exception for items placed over a parted field. While part of the black pale is over green, just as much is over white.
Phew! Works for me.
That was my guess but I couldn’t find anything about it in the heraldry books I’ve downloaded so I wasn’t sure if there was actually a rule about it or it was just "understood".
That’s what I’ve figured, since I know I have seen it done before. You never know though, so I thought it was worth asking.

I’m a big fan of this exception.
