Gore Roll of Arms, entry dated 1710; engraved on a silver plate donated by his widow Abigail to the Second Church of Boston; quillwork "hatchment" by his daughter Lydia (Mrs. Edward Hutchinson), 1737, now at Boston Museum of Fine Arts. Bolton's blazon of the arms on the silver plate implies the chevron as well as the horns to be black (see emblazonment below), but the painting in the Gore Roll clearly shows green.

These included William's brothers John (b. 1741), Bossenger (1742-1805), Timothy (1754-1796), and Joseph (1745-1835), and his sisters Sarah (Mrs. John Gare), Mary (Mrs. Timothy Hilliard), Hannah (Mrs. Nathaniel Lyde), and Elizabeth (Mrs. Morrill).
